Hello!

Welcome to my Bindery. I thought I would do a bit of a rundown re: what to expect from each of my tiers. I'm very open to suggestions or requests for any sort of content. Feel free to comment here if you have any ideas, or find me on other platforms and let me know.

For now, this is what I've got going on:

If you are a follower, this is the free tier.

This tier is very important for me, because it's the foundation of a great community, which is, after all, what I'm trying to build here.

As a follower, you will have access to any of the public updates I write. I've started a series called, "Today . . ." in which I'm just writing personal essays about things that I'm thinking about. I'm thinking of it as a daily journal or blog, though I won't be writing every day. When I do have something I think is worthwhile, this is where I'll write it. It will be book-ish adjacent, as my life is mostly book-ish adjacent, but it will not always be about books explicitly. I want it to be a space in which you can get to know me, as much as that's possible through a blog. I'll be talking about life, work, mental health, and whatever else I can't get out of my noggin.

I will also be writing a Weekly Reading Update, to go along with my regular TikTok series, in which I go over what I've been reading, if I've DNF'd anything, and any books I've started in any given week. I'll be able to go into a little more detail here than I do on TikTok, so (I hope) it'll be a little more in depth and interesting.

You'll also have access to the Black Kit Books Discord Channel. It's not very busy yet, but I hope to spend time there building it up into something fun and interesting.

$5 Friend Tier:

As a friend, You will have access to the Bonus Audio Archive. This is a series of recordings in which authors and guests of the Tim Blackett & Friend Podcast read a portion of their work, or they might read a piece of someone else's work with a brief explanation re: why it's important for them and why they've chosen to read it. This is an ongoing archive (It's fairly small right now) which will grow as I continue to record episodes.

You will also have a chance to pick the Tim Blackett & Friends Bookclub Book. If you are a friend, you can submit a book to me, and I will include it in the 4 choices for the next month. If the club votes to read it, we will read it. You can submit the same book for two months if it's not chosen the first month. (see the BFF tier for a guaranteed BC pick).

I will also be posting our recorded monthly Book Club meetings for this tier as a youtube video.

In our Friends only Discord channel, you will be able to submit questions for my Podcast Guests. I will keep you updated as to who is joining me for the pod.

$12 BFF tier.

First, if you've chosen this tier: Thank you very much. Every tier is important, but these paid tiers really help me to do some of the creative (but unpaid) projects that I'm working on.

In this tier, you are guaranteed 1 Bookclub pick. All you have to do is join the tier, then submit your choice, and I will FORCE the club to read it the following month. :)

You can also submit any book for me to review on TikTok and wherever else I post. It might be your own book, and you want to see it revewied online, or maybe you're just dying for me to read The Confederacy of Dunces and talk about it. As long as I'm able to get my hands on a physical copy (I rarely read ebooks), I'll read it and talk about it within a month of the request.

Once we have a few in the BFF tier, I will be planning monthly "hangouts" via Zoom, where we will just hang out, chat about what we're reading; I'll answer any questions you might have, or we could just sit together and read. It's really up to the BFFs.

Lastly, I'll be posting new stories here. My own work that I hope to publish. It might be excerpts from my novels, or full short stories. I THINK this is acceptable to publishers since it's behind a paywall and won't count as being 'previously published.'

And those are the tiers. If there is anything you'd like to see added, I'd love the have ideas. I was wondering about some writing workshops or critiques. If people were interested in that, I'd love to give that a go.
